University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest and Francophonie University Association organise the second edition of the summer school between 6 – 8 July 2020.

This summer school is intended for undergraduate and master students who are interested in sustainable development. During the three days, students will also be able to participate in a series of webinars and contests targeting the circular economy.



Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SCDS-UDJG 2020 works will be conducted online. PhD students are invited to submit abstracts according to the indicated calendar and to prepare power point and poster presentations in electronic format. The Faculty of Engineering organizes between 27 – 28 May, 2020, the 12th edition of the “Anghel Saligny” National Scientific Conference Session for Students. Respecting the restrictions imposed by the emergency ordinances caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the session will be taking place ONLINE, using the Microsoft TEAMS platform (http://scss.ugal.ro/index.php/facultati/facultatea-de-inginerie).

The “Anghel Saligny” National Scientific Conference Session for Students is a scientific event organized every year by the Faculty of Engineering for undergraduate and master’s students. The scientific research plays an important role in the education process and is a key element in educating future specialists who must always face challenges from the labor market. This event is an opportunity to learn about the concerns of students from different university centers and exchange ideas in the field of Technical Sciences.

The Scientific Conference Session for Students of “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati is for students involved in the research activity, which is combined with developing and presenting scientific papers. The scientific event takes place every year, being organized on sections within the university’s faculties.

Diplomas are awarded to participating students, authors of research papers, and cash prizes for the best scientific papers in each section.

IBM is expanding its online education resources through a new initiative, holding free workshops to help students learn about emerging technologies such as Watson and how to use them. These workshops can provide users with the tools they need to explore new ideas, careers and courses to reach their full potential - anytime, anywhere.

The workshop will focus on hands-on implementation, will last about 2 hours and will be on the area of chatbots development. From a technical point of view, no knowledge of artificial intelligence is required because the trainer will include a presentation of the necessary concepts at the beginning of the workshop. The technology presented will be one of the latest generations - Watson Assistant.

April 23rd, 2020 marks 30 years since the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, within “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati, was established. In honor of such an anniversary, we had prepared an extensive action plan to celebrate, in front of many guests from local authorities and academic communities in the country and abroad, the joint efforts that have ensured the constant progress of our faculty.

Francophonie University Association launches an international call for projects with the purpose of fighting against COVID-19. The purpose of this call is to support initiatives by students, student engineers and young researchers linked to the pandemic.
 
Any initiative with a technological, economic and / or social impact that can be assessed in the very short term is eligible. It can be a support or support device, such as a manufactured product. An exceptional fund of 500,000 euros is dedicated to this call. Projects of less than 10,000 euros up to 50,000 euros can be funded.
 


March 20th, 2020, is the day when the academic community of “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati celebrates 72 years of existence, when the Faculty of Land Improvements was established - the first step towards building this powerful center for creating and promoting science, technology and culture that brings together today, 14 faculties with profiles covering a wide variety of fields.

By the University Charter, this holiday is also one of the entire community of Galati, not only because it honors the existence of the largest higher education institution in the South-East of Romania, which research performance is well known, but also through the happy coincidence by the birth, 200 years ago, of prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza.


A team of five specialists from the Faculty of Food Science and Engineering, the Faculty of Science and Environment and the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy have designed an alcohol-based disinfectant for individual use. This disinfectant could be a backup if the existing stock on the market runs out.
